La Cortina, Rural Accommodation, is in Cabrales, Asturias, at the heart of Picos de Europa, close to the beautiful beaches of  Llanes.

First in time was La Cortina, a charming bed&breakfast, four double rooms rented independently.

The natural thing was to grow, transforming the old block and carpentry workshop into rural apartments, and in June 2020 we are opening them.

La Cortina, the original building, is a traditional Asturian “casona” built of wood and stone. A very common type of construction in the environment of the Picos de Europa. It has a gallery, a porch and a wide “corredor” (terrace). The house has been entirely restored with high-quality, authentic local materials.

Our rooms

    All of our rooms are spacious and have everything you need to be comfortable: Queen bed, bathroom, heating, TV, and working table. Also with the option for another bed for a third person and a cot.

     Enjoy in each of the rooms in La Cortina the abundant natural light and its views over our beautiful and breathtaking landscapes.

The apartments

Although we wanted to respect the soul of the building by preserving the most interesting constructive elements, we have opted for modern spaces with clean lines, minimalist decoration, designed for calm, rest and enjoyment. All the rooms have their own bathroom, and some of them have a Jacuzzi for two people, one of them even a fireplace.

Apartments

Both the rooms and the apartments can use and enjoy our garden, with one of the best views of Cabrales, and the area of Picos de Europa.

Breakfast 

  (Our breakfasts have had to be adapted to the times of the Covid. By protocol, for the absolute security of all, we have had to eliminate the buffet, home, local products. We know that we have lost in quality what we have gained in security. We hope to return to the traditional style as soon as possible)

 Start the day out right with our abundant breakfasts, with local and homemade offerings: toast with jams, olive oil, honey, sweet and salty things… Enjoy them in our comfortable lounge, or outside contemplating the impressive “Picos de Europa“, the valley of Cabrales and the Sierra del Cuera, the mountain range that separates us from the coast and the spectacular beaches of Llanes and Ribadesella, just 30 minutes away.

     In the living room we have a collection of games and TV… And in the winter time, you can feel the warmth of the fireplace while enjoying a glass of wine, or a good dinner.

What to do, where to go

     We can also provide you with a  wealth of information on the area. If you wish we will be happy to help you organize your day: routes, visits, meals… what to see and do depending on your preferences, the weather, and whether the trip is with children or you come as a couple… This is a service highly valued by our guests.

From the city to the countryside

Bed & breakfast La Cortina is the fulfillment of my personal dream, of place, and of life. With illusion and the work of my own hands, I have built a space for rest and contemplation, a venue for the traveler to relax body and soul, in an incomparable setting of splendid views, and in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We are convinced that all this makes it more than deserving the “title” of  “Charming House”.
